Dear Jessica Dobbs,
I am looking for a career in your St. Dominic Hospital. I am dependable, compassionate and conscientious. I am particularly well-qualified for your physical therapist position, as the following highlights illustrate.
I have had the good fortune to provide physical therapy treatment to patients in various settings, assist with marketing to physicians and hospitals, assist with documentation review and development of computerized documentation and provide rehabilitation leadership in a Long Term Acute Care facility.
After graduation, I accepted a position as an outpatient physical therapist to advance my knowledge in the orthopedic setting. I was responsible for conducting evaluations for a hand specialist via computerized sensory mapping as well as making splints for these patients as needed. I treated other patients with various musculoskeletal injuries.
My 12 years with this long term acute care facility was a very rewarding time in my career. I was a part of our interdisciplinary team, working closely with physicians and other allied health professionals. I had the opportunity to treat patients with a wide variety of illnesses which broadened my scope of practice and skills. I was responsible for the education of the staff regarding safe lifting techniques, body mechanics and safe handling of the patients as well as being the team leader for the rehab department. For the last 5 years with this facility, I was allowed to concentrate on wound care at the bedside which included sharp debridement, pulsavac therapy, and applying various types of dressings including short stretch wraps for lymphedema management and negative pressure dressings. I was also instrumental in assisting in the surgical suite under sterile conditions to apply the Wound Vac to muscle flaps and skin grafts.
I’m ready to make money for you and look forward to speaking with you personally. I‘ll call you early next week if you don’t mind.Best Regards,
Gina Robinson
